About Moss Lake
Impounded in 1960, this lake was named for a local superintendent, Hubert H. Moss Lake, but is simply referred to as Moss Lake. This secluded, sparsely populated lake, located about 12 miles northwest of Gainesville, Texas is great for both fishing and boating. Moss Lake's waters are clear and clean. With a surface area of approximately 1,140 acres, Moss is considered a small lake with a maximum depth for 68 feet.
