We studied swinging jig heads for almost a year and tried several different heads, hook sizes and baits on them. We found the football head attached directly to the hook allowed no foul ups versus ones with split rings which would allow the bait to turn over at times and get stuck the whole way back on the retrieve. We also tried several hooks and found out the extra bend on the VMC hooks hold the plastics and don't let them slide down the shank to foul up your hook set. So we built these football swing jigs with VMC 4x strong hooks which have the extra bend up to hold the baits in place. Available in 1/2 oz with a 5/0 hook and the 3/4 and 1 oz models boast a 6/0 hooks designed for you larger profile baits. Put your favorite soft plastics on and drag them across points keeping contact with the bottom, when something feels different and your rod loads up, swing for the fence and get that kicker your needing.
